As a junior in university, Arya joined AWS’s High Performance Computing organization where he contributed to early feature development that helped customer adoption of a new, cloud-native batch job scheduling service, AWS Batch.

After returning to AWS after graduating in 2018, he continued to contribute to larger feature development, and was committed to scaling the business and operational improvements to Batch. Working with various internal and external stakeholders, Arya drove key integrations with other services. Most notable were the Elastic Fabric Adapter, which enables Batch customers to run highly-performant MPI jobs on Batch in the AWS network, as well as Batch’s expansion to AWS GovCloud.

After 18 months with Batch, Arya decided to pursue his dream of building spacecraft to join Project Kuiper as a founding member of the Flight Software team. Project Kuiper is a long-term initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
